A Novel Steal (The 'Real' roleplay)

A roleplay about friends who met online and suddenly have mutant abilities. Taking place at A Novel Steal comic and bookshop in downtown Brooklyn, this roleplay takes place in the same universe as the X-Men, Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy roleplay. (But it involves real life you...shh)

Emma pet her large brindle and white American Pit Bull Terrier, Brando. [What he looks like: postimg(DOT)org/image/y46enmwlp/ ]
She rested her hand on his back, entering the comic and bookshop with a sucker sticking out of her mouth.
Brando was not on a leash, no, somehow...Emma could communicate with him.
Telepathically.
Brando rested at Emma's feet as she browsed through the TMNT comic section.
"Hmm..I like the show..I'll try these out.."

Lars sat behind the desk playing SMITE: Battleground of the Gods as his favorite character, Apollo on his computer.

Emma peered at him, narrowing her eyes.
'Is that Lars?" She asked Brando, and he rolled over at her feet.
'I think so.' Brando replied, and he bolted to the desk, barking at him.
"Oi! Brando, down!" Emma shouted as Brando tried to jump onto the desk, barking his head off.
She then leaned down, peering at Lars.
"Cast? Is that you?"

"Haven't been called cast in a while. Well, besides from Dylan buuuuuut... I guess." Lars said taking out the enemy Artemis. "Can I help you?"

"Ohmygod, barking." Tony muttered as he shot up from behind his display counter, having just stocked the shelves with statues. Red symbols formed and replaced themselves on either side of his head, expressing what his face was already displaying; Distraught.

"I'm eggy, you asshole!" Emma shouted at him, then turned to Tony. She glanced at him, narrowing her eyes.
"Bloody hell, arty, you too?!" Brando ran to Tony, beginning to jump up on him, licking his face. He barked a ton, but with glee this time.

Audrey peeked out of the stock room, "Who's there?" She called to Lars and Tony. She was taking stock of their comics and action figures, because she couldn't do anything else in the day without exploding in the sun.

Tony's frown slowly grew, almost cartoonish in seconds. Blue, pop-styled swirls formed behind his back, spreading through the room before dissipating. "It's Eggy, and that issue's three bucks." He muttered, focusing his dull gaze on Emma.

"Eggy? Sorry, doesn't ring a bell. Are you hard boiled or deviled?" Lars asks with a smirk as his team wins the game. His character got enough worshippers to get the diamond skin. He clicked on it and bought the new skin. His lizard, Harley hissed at Brando from her spot on the counter. "Anyway, you ready to check out or nah?"

Emma cast a dirty look at Lars.
"FROM THE SKYPE CHAT YOU IDIOT!" Then she focused her attention at Arty.
'Brando, off.' She murmured to him telepathically.
'Fine...' He whined.
Brando then sat at Emma's feet.
"Hi, Arty. Should I call you that...or Tony?" She held a ton of TMNT comics under her arm, which she intended to pay for, of course. She also had a Karai figure in her other hand.

She then shoved her 5 TMNT volumes and her figure onto the desk.
She took out her credit card, scanning it.
"How much is this? I'm filthy rich, though, not that it matters."

Audrey perked up, "Eggy?" She said, "Hey! I would totally come out, if not for the searing flames that is the sun."

"About... 200 dollars american." Lars said still not paying attention to the person he didn't remember. He had a terrible short term memory.

"Arty. Always." Tony muttered as he walked out from his counter, clutching an hourglass-shaped box. "I'm going to the back, gonna' take what's valuable and put out the rest." He announced, before walking into the storage room.

"Hey, Audrey! And alrighty, Arty." She scanned her credit card, selecting debit and then signing it.
She then shoved the comics and figure into her backpack, grinning with glee. She sat down in a chair inside of the shop, opening the first volume. Brando sat in her lap, and Emma's eyes were wide.
"DAMN, THIS IS GOOD!"

Lars groaned and leaned back in his chair. "Ughhhhhh...Hungryyyyyy! Who wants breakfast? I'm buying." He said grabbing his jacket.

Emma sat up, immediately awakened from her reading at the mention of food.
"OH! OH! OH! OH! ME! ME! ME! ARTY, LET'S GO GET FOOD!" She shouted, and Brando began barking in response.

"HEY, HEY!" Audrey shouted, "STILL HERE!" She yelled after them.

"Just get sunglasses or an umbrella or something!" Emma called to her.

"Doesn't work like that! Sunlight = poof!" Audrey called back.

"WELL, I'LL BRING YOU BACK A MCBISCUIT!"

"ButIDon'tWantToEat!" Tony whined, a scribbly, red tornado forming over his head as he made his way through boxes of statues and figures.

Emma grabbed Tony by the arm, glaring at him.
"We're going to Mcdonalds. Now."

Audrey groaned, "Fine, whatever." She said, continuing to take stock.
