Zombie RP

(Restarted it, now with a backstory.)

It's been four years since the outbreak began. All large cities have fallen, and are over run. New York, Atlanta, L.A. The list goes on. The undead out number the living 10/1. Alot of people have had stories in this world, that were never able to be told. What's yours?

It was a dark, rainy day for most of the west side of the country. Rain kept most of the zombies confused, following the sounds of the rain on roofs, and long ago broken down cars. These were the days Mark enjoyed most. He ran along the roof tops of downtown Lincoln Nebraska, his destination just a few hundred feet ahead. There sat the roof access to the only completely locked down building in the whole town. He had tried for days to get in, until just a few hours ago when he saw the roof entrance. "There has to be something in here." He muttered, as he made the final leap from building to building, regaining his balance inches away from the edge.

Callie was scavenging through a already-rummaged house, but still was looking for any leftovers. She was in the kitchen, opening dusty cabinets and broken doors.

"Apartments. Of course." Mark said, kind of disappointed as he slowly made his way down a hallway.
He heard sounds coming from inside an apartment on the far end of the hall. After checking it out, and finding nothing but a raccoon, he began searching. After searching every apartment in a two floor radius, he came out with four pairs of socks, a pair of car keys (Possibly useful) and a 12 pack box of chicken flavored ramen noodles.

About half an hour later, he entered the house that he had set up 'camp', the day before. He walked in, and sat his bag down on a dusty sofa.

Callie heard the heavy footsteps of another person, definitely not a walker. She slowly closed the cabinet she was searching through. Callie pulled out a semi-rusted knife from a knife holder in the kitchen, walking slowly to the living room with light footsteps.

Matt looked around, he held a crossbow in one hand, a glock in the other. What he saw, unnerved him. There was a bunch of zombies in the parking lot of the walmart he was hiding behind. He saw a car that might lend him some safety, if momentarily...but in rare cases the car alarms were still active. So he decided to go for the safer route he opened the door to an abandoned walmart pushing open the closed electric doors. As per usual, the walmart he was in was basically a refuge of sorts. All the shelves had been raided, and anything that was left, was basically useless. Looked like another night of sharing food with people...same way it had always been since his family died 4 years ago...

"If you were smart, you would have stayed in the kitchen." Matt said, pulling out his baseball bat. He turned to look at whoever it was, and then he lowered the bat. "Figured you were that dipshit I ran into last week." He shrugged, putting the bat down. "Gonna rob me or something?" He retorted, as he picked up his bag, slinging it over his shoulder. "The only thing I'll get from that knife is a infection."

Callie shrugged, "These days, infections kill. The hell you doing here?" She asked. When they last met, at another house on the border of town, the two didn't do much interaction, other than pointing guns at eachother till one left the territory.

"Am I going to have to be the gentleman once again and leave?" He muttered. "I found this place last night, away from any attention, away from town."

"Obviously not away from attention if I found it." She said, standing at the opening of the kitchen, knife gripped in hand. "We're obviously going nowhere with this. Since you set up camp, I'll leave, alright?" She said.

"You can stay." Matt said, setting his bag down. "I've got plenty of food. Just raided an apartment building downtown." He shrugged, pulling out the 12 pack of ramen. "I'll be gone in the morning though, and you can have this place all to yourself." He said, and right as he did, a giant clap of thunder broke out overhead, followed by extremely hard rain.

Callie looked up to the ceiling, sighing at the hard rain, "Seems like we'll be stuck together for a while," She said, sitting down on a chair, "You better not be some rapist or cannibal." Callie said, putting the knife on a table to the right of her.

"Why not both?" Matt joked coldly as he sat down on the sofa across from her. "My point still stands. I'm leaving in the morning. Rain or not."

Callie shrugged, "I'll occupy the place then, not a problem. She said, rolling her shoulders at the weight of her backpack, which she kept on in lack of trust.

Matt opened up his bag, and threw a granola bar and a bottle of water to Callie. He got one for himself, and began eating in silence.

Stormy climbed the wet metal stairs of the fire escape as quietly as possible. The sound of the rain drowned out the steps her feet made on the metal. This she was grateful for. She opened the window of an apartment, pushing her bag and compound in before her. Once she was in she closed the window, tying it off with parachute cord from her old bracelet. Her raincoat was soaked, but thankfully it kept most of the rain off her clothes. She hung the jacket on the fan, stepping on the old and moth eaten couch to reach. She wrung out her hair, pink still in it. It was amazing how long it had lasted. Then again, whenever she found red KoolAid, she redid it. The pink was braided at the top of her head like a headband. The rest of her brown hair was curly, it reaching barely past her shoulders. She lifted her bag from the ground and dumped out its contents onto the counter. There was cans of soup, bottles of water, and some random bottles of medications. She put her hair up with mostly one hand as she sorted through it. As she tied it off she grabbed a can of soup with a bottle of water. The fireplace had some hot coals in it from the old fire and she placed the grill from the oven on top, placing the can on top after she opened it with her pocket knife. The people who used to live in the apartment were obviously smokers, for there were lighters in every drawer and multiple ashtrays with lots of embers in them. She grabbed one of the lighters with a bit of fuel left and she lit the coals, creating a small fire to warm her up and heat up her food. The cool of her gun in the waistband of her jeans pressed against her sun tanned skin as she crouched, rubbing her fingerless gloved hands together next to the fire to warm them up.

Callie took the granola bar and waterbottle, stashing the water in her backpack. She opened up her granola bar wrapper. She began eating it, then looked around, "Right, so... I guess, tell me about yourself?" She said.

"Grew up here. In Colorado. Decent family I guess, lost them all at the start of this." He said, then locked his jaw and looked at the ground.

Callie looked down, "Sorry I asked." She said, digging the grains out of her teeth with her tongue, "I don't know if my family is still alive, I guess not." Callie took another bite of her granola bar.

"Well, it has been nearly four years." Matt said, looking up. "Don't worry about it, I've had my time to mourn." He shrugged. "What do you want to do? We have to pass the time some way."

Revy walked along the rooftops, the houses were close together, so she could easily jump from roof to roof. One house, she didn't know had humans in it, looked inviting,  so Revy opens up the window of one of the rooms, and climbs in. She checked each of the rooms, and walked into a living room of sorts and sighed almost angrily. "Sorry." She says, drawing attention to herself. "I didn't know there was someone here, its raining and its cold, I hope you guys dont mind, but I'm sleeping in the back room. Ok, bye." Revy says to the two, walking back towards the room she set her things down in.

"That was. Normal?" Mark said, standing up and walking towards the back room. "Everyone decent in there?" He said, jokingly. As he opened the door.

Revy was sitting in the corner of the room, cleaning the blade of her khopesh, wiping the blood onto a small cloth. "What do you need guy?" Revy asks, inspecting the blade for a moment, and continuing to clean the other side.

"Well, for one. Your name." Mark said, walking over and sitting on the side of the bed. "Why you weren't scared, or tried to kill us when you walked in on two survivors. And a list of other things."

"My name is Revy, I'm not a spineless worm for one, and two I only kill ass holes who try to hurt me, human, zombie, or otherwise. " Revy says putting her blade down for a moment,  and then continues to clean her weapons.
