A Novel Steal (The 'Real' roleplay)

"Hi," Maggie yawned in return, one yawn making her yawn. "What'd you get?" She asked Artemis, walking over to his counter and leaning on it to look over it.

"CAPTAIN." Tony announced as he head shot up, gripping the infinity-shaped black box. "MARVEL!" He finished, as red, blue, and yellow swirls formed around him, trailing him as he stumbled over the counter, pushing Maggie out of his dashing path to the back.

Maggie, already sleep deprived, fell back easily. "Alrighty then. Guess I'll just catch up on sleep here," she fell back the rest of the way, sprawled across the ground like a starfish.

Emily had just gotten off work and walked into the book shop, waving at Arty as she walked by and stepped over Maggie. She got behind the Coffee bar, and made some coffee. "Hey, anybody else want some?"

"I need some. Please," Maggie yawned once more, tipping her head enough to see Emily.

Emily smiled a bit, "Exams?" She asks, giving Maggie's coffee a little extra kick, hoping it would help.

"Yes. They are hell," she answered, sitting up and taking a sip. "We were up all night. They're tomorrow."

"Ah, I see, I start my classes in a week or so, sooon I will know your pain." Emily says, giving Maggie a half smike.

"I'll take some." Dylan said, walking over to Emily. "Oh, and some Coffee too." He said, joking as he sat down at the counter.

"Watch where you step Dylan, you are walking on thin ice." Emily says, giving Dylan a short smile before givong him some coffee.

"And that's just how I like it." Dylan said, taking a drink of the coffee.

Emily winks and points at Dylan making a click noise with her mouth. "So, topic of discussion for today, ideas anyone?"

"Ew, unsubtle suggestive dialogue. Also nerds." Tony called as he walked into the shop, clutching the plastic blue, red, and yellow figure that he had found. "Ooh, let's talk about what the fuck happened when we got here!" Tony suggested, a pair of underscores and asterisks forming beside either side of his head when he said 'fuck'. "Like, how we're still getting Marvel merch, if we still have families, etc.?" He continued, falling back on a pastel blue/red/yellow 'rainbow' that carried him back to his counter.

Maggie scooted over to the counter and leaned against it. One leg was up against her chest while the other laid straight on the ground. She took another sip of coffee, cringing slightly at the taste. "Well.. I was reading a Magneto comic a while back and they had comics then. Written by Stan Lee too. Maybe, if we're doing an alternate dimension thing, then that's it."

"Okay, cool, that makes sense." Tony said, half-listening to Maggie as he made his way to the door, setting the figure down on his counter. "I'm off to do something else that I care about, now, so you nerds have fun running a store!" He called, walking out.

However long until present day or some shit. Time: Three in the afternoon.


Dylan entered Emily's work, knowing she should be off soon. He saw her back to the counter, working on something. "I'll take a double shot of you, to go." He joked.

"I'm busy Dylan." Emily says, giving a customer a cup of coffee, bagging things up, serving, she was quickly walking from one place to another.

"I can wait." He said, walking over and sitting down next to the counter.

Maggie walked with her bookbag swung over one shoulder. She walked down the steps to the subway, heading home. She swiped her card and entered the smelly station, wind from the trains whipping her hair around her face. It was now her normal light brown once more, yet the tips were light blue again and fading. She looked to her phone as she waited for her train, swiping the screen and reading a text from her friend: "How's city life going for you?" She smiled, texting back: "Well, seeing in how I've been here for a few months, pretty well. How's you in Cali?" Her train arrive, and she walked in. By time she sat down she had another text. "Pretty well. So much as for no more 7 months." "Yeah, no joke." "I've gotta go. Heading out tonight." "Have fun. Don't get too drunk." "Yeah, whatever." About fifteen more minuets and she was entering the key into the apartment she shared with her friend Kat. She walked in, not bothering to announce her presence knowing she was still at work. She walked to her room, setting her bag down on her bed. She changed into other clothes, hating the clothes she wore to school; it wasn't that there was a uniform or anything, she just knew it was a good idea to impress others. She changed into her 'Kneel before me' anime Loki shirt, denim jeans, and tennis shoes. She grabbed her bag which had some cash in her SIFAT wallet, her writing journal, and a pencil and eraser. She grabbed her phone and walked out to the hall, locking her door and heading downstairs. She walked out into the busy streets of NYC, blending into the crowds. She walked the 5 minuets to the coffee shop she knew Emily worked at. Hopefully she'd catch her before she went off. She walked in, seeing Dylan and Emily. She nodded to Emily, seeing she was busy already and not wanting to bother her.

After the rush died down, Emily took off her apron and clocked out. "Hey Maggie, how are you? I like your shirt by the way," Emily says with a small smile.

"Thanks, and pretty good. You?" Maggie asked, smiling as she looked up at Emily. She had gotten up earlier and bought an unsweet tea. After that she had started thinking of ideas for a short story for her writing class. She closed the notebook with her pencil in it The notebook was small, leather-bound, and a replica of Sam and Dean's dad's journal.

Lars sat down at a diner in Brooklyn. He sighed staring at his coffee. It had probably been a month since he'd seen any one of his old friends. He had grown out his facial hair a bit producing what he called a 'Rob Dyke Beard' his deppression he thought he had under control was slowly coming back. Without his friends around him, he started to realize how boring life could be. He pulled out his phone and texted Maggie. [Hey mags, what's up?] he asked. He didn't expect a response, but it was worth a shot. He pulled on his duster coat and grabbed the keys to his '95 white Cadillac. The engine choked to life and he pulled out into New York traffic.

Maggie's phone vibrated in her back pocket. She got it out, seeing it was Lars. 'Nothin much. Just talkin to Em, you?'

Lars checked his phone. Seeing the text from Maggie. [Stuck in traffic, URGH!]

"Exhausted, but that's just how life goes I suppose." Emily says, giving Maggie a small, forced smile.
